Please use the door on ground level to the right of the building, near the flagpole.
The kitchen stove/oven is not in working order and will not be
fixed before the reunion. There is a microwave in the kitchen, and I was
told that there is a smaller stove/oven in the pavilion behind the lodge. We
have a camp stove with a burner that can be used. You may have to heat
your food in your camper or rental, or bring something cold for the meal like
salads, cold cuts, dessert.
Then we will head over to Jeff & Sue Choquette’s Camp, located at 4537 Woods Ln, Boonville, NY (1.1 miles in, driveway is on the left, look for the wooden Choquette sign and a large boulder) for an afternoon and evening of fun!
We have a block of rooms reserved at The Lodge at Headwaters in Boonville, NY. (315) 942-2027. Rooms will be held until August 4th for a 10% discount, $142/night. You must mention the Mayhew Reunion when booking. A full hot breakfast is included.
We will set up a campfire each night.
Bring along any games to share (cornhole, KanJam, or anything else you have).
Bring your canopies, chairs, and bug spray/rackets.
Bring your golf clubs to play a round on Saturday morning at Woodgate Pines. Message Jeff if interested, so he can reserve a tee time.
Sue will lead a hike at Pixley Falls State Park for the non-golfers.
Please be advised:
No trash disposal; carry out what you carry in. Trash must remain inside campers; we have wild animals in the woods!
Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed at all times (wild animals in woods). Please pick up and take with you all pet waste.
Do not expect to have access to electricity. You can bring your generators.
We will have two port-a-potties.
No talent show this year, but bring your favorite jokes and stories to share around the campfire.
Specific Direction to Camp
4537 Woods Ln., Boonville, NY.
From State Route 12, turn onto Woodgate Dr. at the traffic light
(Sunoco on the corner & Tops plaza across). Travel 5.7 miles; look for the
Town of Forestport signs and the firewood stand. Turn right onto Woods Ln.
(Private Rd.). Travel 1.1 miles; the driveway is on the left (look for the large
boulder and wooden sign with 4537). Please note that Woods Ln. is a one
lane road, and the maximum speed is 15 mph.
If approaching from State Route 28, Turn onto Woodgate Rd. at the yellow
caution light in Woodgate; this is a very winding road, so take it slowly.
Woods Ln. is just over 3.5 miles on the left. It comes up quickly after a
curve in the road. If GPS has you turning off Route 28 at a different
location, DO NOT FOLLOW! It is the wrong Woods Ln. in Forestport, and
you cannot get to camp from there.
Parking at camp, for the non-campers, is along the driveway. There will be
a few spots closer for those who have trouble walking.
